C-6 Ignition Module, Single-Try Lockout

Provided for tight compliance with CSD-1 requirements (see G-1 option). This version of the Hot-Surface Ignition module goes into manual-reset lockout if a single ignition trial for ignition fails.

E-5 Alarm Bell, 4" dia

Adds an audible alarm bell activated whenever the unit goes into alarm state. Silencing and reset buttons provided.

E-14 Contact Status Relay

Provides dry contacts to show whether the unit is actually firing; contacts have continuity when the main valve has been energized.

A 24VAC device which checks for the presence of water, confirming that the heat exchanger is water-filled. The F-10 option includes manual reset, test button and indicator light.

G-1 CSD-1 compliance

Meets the requirements of the CSD-1 standard for boiler safety as applied in most jurisdictions. This option adds high and low gas pressure supervision (S-1 and S-2 options). In some areas it may be necessary to add the C-6 option. Please note that the CSD-1 requirements applies ONLY to boilers. Water heaters such as WH models are categorically exempted from CSD-1 requirements; see CSD-1 para CG-130(b).

G-2 CSD-1 with Additional Safety Valve

Originally designed to meet the requirements of the Industrial Risk Insurers (IRI) consortium (no longer in existence), this compliance option is retained for those instances where specific engineers require these added functions. This provides the G-1 package with an additional solenoid valve (M-10) and a normally-open vent valve (M-15).

Adds a manual-reset safety switch to shut off the unit on a safety fault if the inlet gas pressure drops below setpoint.

Z-12 Condensate Neutralizer

The Xtherm is a highly condensing unit, generating a continuous stream of acidic condensate from the secondary heat exchanger. This is too acidic to be simply piped to a sanitary drain in many areas; it must be either neutralized or handled as a toxic waste product. This tube is filled with limestone chips, which chemically neutralize the condensate from the unit enough to allow the resulting liquid to be disposed of down a sanitary drain. The limestone chips must be periodically replaced; the estimated time between changes is in excess of a thousand hours of runtime. Limestone chips for landscaping purposes are readily available and are recommended.
  • Use separate neutralizers for the primary condensate drain from the unit, and the condensate drain from the vent.
