Senior buyer
Description:
Independently plans and coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services to assure the smooth operation of the manufacturing facility for a defined set of commodities. Negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost, quality, inventory and on-time delivery targets.
Qualifications: The candidate shall hold a bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or related field, must minimally have four to eight years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably manufacturing of appliances or other durable goods) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The successful candidate will have strong negotiation skills, excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and a strong history of supplier relationship building.
The applicant must also have experience in the following areas: dealing with certification agencies, experience working in an ISO based quality system, and knowledge of Windows Office Programs and ERP Programs. Experience in global sourcing of components and materials strongly preferred. Strong preference will be given to candidates with purchasing certifications from an ISM accredited source and also those with a background in Engineering.

Description:
The ideal candidate shall have a degree in Sales/ Marketing/ Business and/or 3-5 years of experience in sales or marketing, preferably in the Commercial Boiler Industry. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of personnel. A successful track record of sales is essential for this position. The applicant must also have experience in the following areas: speaking in front of groups of people to explain or train personnel, and computer skills (using email, document programs, and presentation preparation). A clean driving record and valid driver's license are required.
This position will be responsible for the LA County (excluding the South Bay area), Kern, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties, and the city of Bakersfield.
