Meet Raypak’s own Adam Modzelewski… Adam has been an integral part of our team since
2003 where he started as a Service Tech in the SoCal area. He didn’t last long as a tech because he (as those closest to him know well) prefers face-to-face communication rather than being in the field fixing products. So, he was shortly transferred into a Tech Support role, but he still felt like he needed more. In 2007, Adam was left wanting to explore a position in sales, and he applied for a Raypak District Sales Manager job in AZ and got it! In 2017, Adam remembers he “got a promotion to run commercial pool heater sales nationally, and I’m still in it and love it very much!”.
We wanted to know what inspires Adam the most to do what he does, and still be in love with his role. He noted that to him, it was a mixture of personal experiences, professional growth and industry passion. His personal connection with the pool industry started very young, as he grew up around (very cold, never heated) pools in Poland. “Now I provide heating solutions for those very pools with a variety of Raypak commercial pool products, which puts a big smile on my face,” said Adam. Another element of inspiration comes from the enjoyment of industry challenges, especially when it includes engineering. Adam notes, “I enjoy the challenges with engineering the parts of a new project, especially ones that are complex. Those are the most rewarding, when I am working diligently to provide sizing and correct configured equipment”.
It is inspiring to see that great impact on communities where Raypak commercial products are being used in public and private schools, hotels, HOA’s, community wellness and recreation centers. One of the highlights of my career was when I closed a very large deal that included a total of 17 large 2 mln pool heaters for a water park in FL.
“The pool industry has evolved significantly over the years”, said Adam, “and 2025 is showcasing some exciting trends-especially in the commercial pool sector. From recreation to wellness, pools are no longer for swimming, they are wellness hubs”.

Since Adam has been in the pool industry for many years, we wanted his take on how technology is advancing the industry:
Tech-driven operations, automation and smart systems have transformed pool management. For example, Raypak commercial pool product MVB, Xtherm and Xtherm indirect are being WiFi-enabled and the status of the heater can be operated and viewed from any point in the world. We are seeing a sustainability focus, a strong shift to eco-friendly practices, and a focus on the high efficiency Raypak Xtherm line of products for solar heating. Lastly, pool design innovation! Pools are becoming architectural centerpieces with infinity edges, underwater lighting, glass walls that blend luxury with nature.

We asked Adam what he thinks sets Raypak apart from others in the market. He answered:
Raypak stands out in the commercial pool industry for several key reasons that blend innovation, reliability, longevity and customer centric design.
- Raypak commercial pool heaters are known for their durability and low maintenance. Pool pros consistently recommend them because they are easy to install, replacement parts are readily available through our partners at Poolcorp and Heritage, and they are built to last with a Raypak commercial product average life span of 8-10 years.
- Raypak is a pro at smart technology integration, built-in WiFi with Raymote app control temperature management and scheduling fleet management. Notification for service needs is ideal on large commercial products for operators managing multiple heaters.
- Engineering excellence is expressed through Raypak’s manufacturing process including automated electronic testing and final fire test, validation on and off inputs/ outputs before the products leave the factory. This ensures every unit is ready for installation and long-term operation.
- The Raypak sustainability commitment as part of the Rheem family means that Raypak is deeply invested in eco-friendly product design, high efficiency heating solutions like the Xtherm line, recyclable materials and responsible manufacturing practices.
Raypak is not just a product provider – we are partners in pool design and engineering. Our support includes sizing and configuration assistance, training and resources for installers. To top it off, Raypak is proud to offer a strong network for reps and service professionals.
“The pool industry offers diverse roles and you can choose your niche”, said Adam. “There are several exciting paths and practical steps you can take depending on your interest, skills and goals. Be the best and keep the work great. Be the example and be the star!”
Thank you, Adam, for your time and for helping to share your story.
